Volunteer Registration

Hello, and thank you for you interest in coming to Middle Tennessee to assist with the recovery effort!! The Tennessee Conference is partnering with numerous Faith-based organizations to bring volunteers to the area to work with the local long-term recovery committees across Middle Tennessee to assist those affected by the 2010 flood and storms.

To register to come to the area to be part of the recovery effort, please download and complete the .pdf form below and then submit via email to disasterresponse@tnumc.com  Once your form is received, you will be contacted via email within a few days with next steps, and housing information (as applicable). Given the nature of the overall recovery it is difficult to provide teams the specifics of their work location immediately, but every effort will be made to match the jobs to a given team's skill set. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE CONFIRMATION WITHIN A FEW DAYS ONCE YOU HAVE EMAILED YOUR REGISTRATION FORM PLEASE FOLLOW UP AND CONTACT OUR OFFICE at 615-695-2765.

We also ask all teams to cooperate with the following general rules for teams coming to the area:

·         Minimum age for volunteer team member s is 14

·         Volunteer teams must maintain a ratio of 1 adult to 5 or fewer youth (those under 18) at all times while in the area. This includes jobsites and housing locations, and at no time should an adult be alone with a child under 18 (other than their own children)

·         Volunteer groups are generally expected to bring/have their own tools and transportation, however these may be provided  on a case-by-case basis given advance notification

·         Volunteer groups larger than 10-15 may be accommodated depending on housing resources available but generally must be willing to split and go to multiple locations on the same day

·         All volunteers or volunteer groups must complete the following:

o   A General registration form- this form must be completed before housing or work will be arranged (below)

o   A Team roster- this must be received before a team arrives in the a

o   A General Liability waiver- this must be completed before a volunteer or volunteer group arrives at a jobsite, but may be collected at a housing location

o   A volunteer hour log- this will be collected at the housing site and sent back to the central location until we reach the cap on volunteer hours

·         All volunteers are encouraged to have personal medical insurance while performing flood relief and recovery work. Should an individual or sponsoring entity wish to purchase short-term medical insurance to cover individuals not otherwise insured, information on available options for all teams coming to the area through the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission will be provided. This insurance is availible to all team members coming in to the area, not just United Methodist Teams

Once you have completed the registration form below please email to disasterresponse@tnumc.com (as the submit button in the upper right corner of that page is currently disabled) then you can visit the "Forms and Guides" link in the upper left for additional information.
